An "External exception" message may appear during the firmware installation process. In many cases, it is safe to wait for the installation to complete automatically.
- If it does not complete within 15 minutes, restart the controller and wait 10 more minutes.
- If installation is still incomplete after this time, perform a full device reset and begin the firmware installation again.
