Is the ONE installation stuck, looping, or getting interrupted?
If the ONE installation is stuck, looping, or being interrupted, do not worry. In most cases, you can resolve the issue yourself. The following checklist will help you identify and fix the problem.
1. Check Your Windows System
Ensure you are using a genuited, unmodified version of Windows. Avoid custom builds or versions that have been tweaked or patched, for example for gaming.
Your Windows version must be 22H2 or higher. To verify, press Win + R, type winver, and press Enter.
If you have previously used system optimizers, tweaking tools, or changed third-party settings, these can interfere. If you are unsure, it is recommended to restore your system's default settings.
2.Disable Your Antivirus Completely
Even antivirus software considered "friendly" can sometimes block essential installation files.
It is recommended to completely uninstall any third-party antivirus programs.
Also, temporarily disable Windows Defender, as it can also interrupt the installation process.
3.Check the Cable and USB Connection
Poor or unstable connections are a frequent cause of errors.
Use an original or high-quality USB cable that is not damaged.
Connect the controller directly to a USB port on your computer, not through a hub.
Test the USB ports on another device to confirm they are working correctly.
4.Ensure You Have Enough Free Space
Insufficient disk space can halt the installation.
Free up at least 20 GB of space on your C: drive.
If necessary, delete temporary files, empty the recycle bin, and uninstall unused programs.
5.Verify Controller Activation
If the controller displays a language selection screen when starting up, it has not yet been activated.
You must link the device to your account before starting the installation. The installation will fail if this step is not completed.
Troubleshooting Persistent Installation Issues
If you have completed all the previous steps but the ONE installation still fails to start or freezes, proceed as follows:
Perform a full factory reset of the controller.
Attempt the installation using a different USB cable and a different USB port on your computer.
Restart the entire installation process from the beginning, following the official instructions precisely.
Note: the ONE installation has specific system requirements. Minor deviations in your setup, cable quality, or system configuration can disrupt the process. Carefully following this checklist should help identify and resolve these issues for a successful installation.
